Droidcon Italy 2016

Droidcon Italy 2016

On April 7th and 8th, I attended and spoke at Droidcon Italy 2016 in lovely Torino, Italy. For me Torino was both a first time in Italy and a first European Droidcon.

The content was fantastic with a few common threads running through different sessions. One of these threads was the role of the developer in UX. By far the best thing that I took home from Torino is an empowering feeling that developers and designers share equal and important roles in building UX.

Droidcon San Francisco 2016

Droidcon San Francisco 2016

At last week's Droidcon San Francisco, I gave my talk on "Loving Lean Layouts", watched other awesome sessions, participated in Speechless, and filmed a few interviews for Android Dialogs.

As well as enjoying high quality technical content, I had an amazing time meeting and hanging with other Android devs and designers. Y'all make my conference.

DroidKaigi 2016

DroidKaigi 2016

Last week I both visited Japan for the first time and spoke at DroidKaigi 2016. I have virtually zero ability to properly articulate how much I enjoyed the trip. However, I will attempt a small recap with more than moderate amounts of gushing.

Big Android BBQ 2015

Big Android BBQ 2015

Last week I attended and spoke at my first Big Android BBQ. After hearing from more than one person that the BABBQ is more of an "enthusiast" conference, I wasn't quite sure what to expect. However, I am happy to report that the BABBQ 2015 is as much a developer conference as anywhere else.

Overall, I would rate it as a *Would-Go-Next-Year*.

Here's the lowdown on my BABBQ 2015.
