First Android Dialogs of 2018

The first of Android Dialogs of 2018 was a bit longer than normal, but I got so excited to talk to Hadi Hariri, VP of Developer Advocacy of JetBrains, about one of my favorite topics, Kotlin.

Hadi is brilliant, funny, and hilariously honest as I pepper him with questions about being a developer advocate and about the world of Kotlin from a JetBrains perspective.

I also am super happy how the filming turned out with the setup of the room and the lighting. Also I'll say that this is the first episode that I shot in SLOG-3 and color-graded half decently.

Okay, sorry. Putting the video nerd back in the box for a bit.

Please check out this interview if you are even a little bit interested in Kotlin.

Cheers!

SINFO 24

Last week I flew to Lisbon, Portugal to the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) to speak and attend SINFO 24, a week-long, non-profit conference run by IST students for IST students, consisting of an employer expo, workshops, and keynotes.

This post is a consummate love letter to SINFO 24 and its coordinators starting with some quick facts about why I loved SINFO so much.

DevFest MN 2017

DevFest MN 2017

This last weekend I had the pleasure of attending and speaking at DevFest MN for the first time. There was a fantastic line-up of speakers in a great venue and a great turnout.

I gave a presentation called "Cool ConstraintLayout" in which I discussed some of my favorite features currently available in ConstraintLayout.
